Bluefields Basic School Construction

The BBFFS is partnering with Food for the Poor and The Government of Jamaica (UDC and Ministry of Education) to construct the first cement block basic school in Westmoreland.  Building works for the new Bluefields Basic School began on Sunday December 9, 2012. The site is located on Mount Edgecombe, Westmoreland. The site was cleared and a new road was built using a D9 Tractor. The contractor laid out the new building with the help of community members. The foundations of the building was also dug. Due to the fact that the ground is hard limestone the D9 tractor came in very handy.
